A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH

Although a great literature has sprung up on the Social Gospel, this is unique in that it is the first of Dr. Lewis' books to treat of it. An excellent job of correlating the various schools of thought, tracing views such as held by Harnack, Schweitzer, Niebuhr, Dodd, etc., as well as attacking very sanely the school of humanism that overlooks the divine. Essentially a book for clergy, professors, teachers, social workers, although it is written clearly enough for the layman with some understanding of the background of this movement. For public libraries with religious or social science departments.
