GOD MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Dr. Poteat has been the President of a Theological Seminary and now is pastor of an influential Baptist Church. In this book he is both the scholar and the preacher. He is concerned to interpret the work of God in terms of creativity, cohesion, the experience of community, self-giving love and power. He then discusses at length the way the work of God, thus interpreted, is seen in history, in the home, in education, in business, in pain and in death and in our faith in immortality. This is not an easy book to read. Not only does it require sound thinking, but its style is discursive. Dr. Poteat is more arresting as a preacher than as a writer.
