BEST SHORT STORIES OF CHARLES DICKENS

Everyone is familiar with some of Dickens' short stories,- A Christmas Carol, The Cricket on the Hearth, The Chimes, The Holly Tree. Most people appreciate the story teller's genius in the episodes of Pickwick Papers. But in the main we think of Dickens as a novelist, needing the broader canvas to develop his multiple themed stories, his multi-charactered plots. This collection will give him new stature as a story teller, with about sixteen stories, showing wide range of imaginative and dramatic ability, and- with few exceptions- well worth reading for their timeless gift of understanding, of humor, of sensitivity.
