PLOWING THROUGH: The Story of the Negro in Agriculture by Edwin Ware Hullinger

PLOWING THROUGH: The Story of the Negro in Agriculture

By

Publisher: Morrow

This book's chief claim to fame lies in its beautiful photographs, and fine format. The text, except where it is a faithful record of challenging facts and figures is disappointing. These are illuminating -- and a great tribute to the far-reaching results the Administration has achieved in bettering the condition of the agricultural Negro. The book falls down lamentably in the philosophical and economic content, and the style seems labored, the comments trite. Sell as a picture book with social import.
