There is a special, not a wide, audience for this book. It is geared to the interests and capabilities of the students who are both talented and experimenting in science and biology. After describing the generation of electricity by the various muscles of the body in man and other animals, the brain and nervous system is most closely described. The analogy made between the brain and the computer is discussed in more practical working terms than it has been in other recent books that have made use of it. The final section of the book is a short but very helpful set of directions guiding the reader in an experiment that makes use of animal nerves and muscles activated by electric current.
