The author's Pio Nono and Mazzini and the Secret Societies have been well received and have established the author's competence to deal with the complicated history of the Catholic Church in the modern world. The present book, which is more character and deals with all of the important connections of the Catholic time of the French Revolution to the present, is perhaps the best of the books. An amazing amount of diversified material is lucidly explained and in an interesting historical style and with every evidence of sound lanced judgement. A ""Time Chart"", scholarly bibliography and appended... The subject is the history of the Church's various events and personalities from 1789 to 1956, which represented fourth great of the human inte It is a study of her unity of purpose, her situations and her ability to be re the world's history. It the progress made in the last two what has been evil and erroneous in the same two centuries, all against ground of the revolutionary developments that occurred in the political orders since the French Revolution. The spirit and of such that non-Catholics as well as Catholics will feel that they can in the author and be apprised of many facts and interpretations history of the Catholic Church in the modern world they might not upon.
