KIRKUS REVIEW

A little boy goes into the field to look for his blue-eyed pussy-cat. The beetles, the grasshoppers, and the flies are there, but no cat. Suddenly, as the little boy muses in the bright sun, the field is transformed into a jungle. Monkeys, alligators, giant turtles distract him from his quest. The dream ends, the pussy-cat appears, and the child, cat in arms, leaves the peaceful field.
