Brimful of all sorts of information, ranging from old legends to history of Sandwich glase, modern uses of whale oil, quotations from source material in voyages and journeys, wars, sea captains, and epitaphs, country clubs, tea rooms, and so on and so on. Should be valuable guide book, though style is too ecstatically gushing at times. Route takes one from Canal and Sandwich, along the north shore (Barnstable, etc.) up to Provincetown, back to Chatham, and along the south shore, up Buzzard's Bay to the Canal again. Routes indicated --towns mentioned specifically indications of little known and odd parts of larger towns.
