A difficult blend of fantasy, fact and romance. A story within a story within a story. Symbolism that is obscure in its handling and yet important to a true understanding of this grown-up fairy tale of Watteau fans, of blindfolded maidens and youths hiding in the shrubbery, of a humming bird that tells a story, of reincarnation of the magic and the maiden of Watteau's sad career. There is a certain ""preciosity"" that makes this difficult to place for market.
