MARTIN PIPPIN IN THE DAISY FIELD

This applies also to this second Martin Pippin book. The stories and legends he tells the little girls in the daisy field are younger in appeal than those in the early volume, but Eleanor Farjeon's style is not levelled down to younger readers, who would enjoy it if read to them. There is a quiet humor and a charm of rhythmic prose and verse that needs adult interpretation.
