JUNIOR: A Colored Boy of Charleston

There is an expanding shelf of books about colored children, books in which they are treated as naturally and wholesomely as white children, and not as ""character figures"" and ""props"" as in the old days. This is a good addition to that shelf. Junior's father had lost his job and Junior tries in every way possible, often with disastrous results, to make nickels and dimes to add to the family funds. The background of Charleston is admirably conveyed.
