MAKING FRIENDS by Eleanor--Illus. Schick

Email this review

Without a word, a little boy accompanying his mother on a round of errands approaches a worm on the sidewalk, a butterfly by the bus stop, a canary in a cage, a spider in the supermarket (from his vantage point on the wagon seat), a kitty in a carrier, a policeman's mount, etc., etc., until they reach the playground where a little girl and her mother welcome the two of them, and the children skip off to swing. As tersely drawn (and touched with yellow), exactly as it might be, and should be.
