KIRKUS REVIEW

Mrs. Kelly's gift lends itself perhaps better to this type of short story than to the longer narrative form. Romantic tales of today, set against the languorous background of North Africa, they capture the reader's imagination and weave a magic spell, a very real illusion. The author has a facility and charm that makes up for the sentimentality and lack of depth, and she paints a vivid picture and tells a good story. What more can you ask? Assured popular sale.
