A dog family heads to the beach in Taylor’s playful outing: “Jump in. Buckle up. All set? Let’s go!” On a double-page spread, the family loads up the car with towels and toys and a striped umbrella. They’re soon joined by others: two pigs on a bike (“Bye-bye”), five mice on scooters (“You too?”) and at a crowded intersection, a trio of hippos in an ice-cream truck. Taylor’s light-filled illustrations are filled with fun details (there are lots of opportunities for counting, too), and her simple text pops with a heady dose of onomatopoeia. In a blink of an eye, the crew arrives at the beach. Though the ending feels abrupt, youngsters will no doubt enjoy the ride. (Picture book. 4-8)
