A JOB FOR JEREMIAH

I liked A Shipment for Susannah (Nelson published it) and I like the sequel. Jeremiah was a small brother to Susannha, and he, too, lived at Mt. Vernon when Washington was still ""General Washington."" Through small Jeremiah's search for a job he liked, you see the plantation at work -- building, blacksmithing, carpentry, shoemaking, caring for horses, dairying, milling flour -- and gardening where he found himself.
