WHO SHALL ASCEND

Kenneth Strachan was born into a missionary family: his father served as an itinerant missionary throughout Latin America, while his mother ran a girls school at home base in San Jose, Costa Rica. The story of his own life as child, youth and man is recorded with more honesty than insight, reveals a sincere person tackling the problems of existence. His decision for Christ and to carry on ""the work"" appears almost inevitable. Strachan married after ""a boneheaded courtship"" and spent his life in Latin America, espousing Evangelism-in-Depth and Latinamericanization from his position as general manager of LAM. A Fundamentalist asked to address the National Council of Churches, he announced the opening of the Latin American campaign for Billy Graham. His request for $100,000 a year for fifteen years and the health to go with it was not granted; he died shortly after initiating Evangelism-in-Depth in Guatemala. There is little here to extend this beyond a Fundamentally involved readership.
