A sequel to The Pony That Ran Away and The Pony That Kept a Secret tells further New England farm adventures of the twins Ted and Sue, and their Shetland pony Twinkle. One day near Christmas, the twins overhear their father and Pete the handyman, threaten to get rid of Twinkle because the pony eats too much and gets into too much trouble. Events that follow number Twinkle's temporary disappearance, a visit from a stern but humorous old lady, a blizzard, more predicaments with two year old Robby and the goose Jemima- until the misunderstanding's straightened out.
