LOST KARIN

Another in the Holly Hotel series. Mrs. Maitland and her young daughter run a paying guests establishment in Scotland. This time, the wealthy young child heiress of American Daniel Cloot is waylaid by a disgruntled thief who has heard of plans to send her to Holly Hotel and the safety of the country village. The same group of children, a covy of new young guests, and the old friend, the antique hound, hunt for and eventually aid Karin. She is herself a chip off the old enterprising block. The mystery is a bit on the dull side, but the youngsters are nice, though they seem immature compared to the average American boys and girls of that age.
