ANN FRANCES

I confess that the appeal of Eliza Orne White remains a mystery to me. Each successive book seems more obvious and limping than the last, and distinctly dated, suggesting the pallid and somewhat moral tales of forty years ago... This is a story of a five year old child in a smallish presumably New England town, of the round of activities and interests and incidents, from measles to twins in the family.
