WONDERS OF SEA GULLS by Elizabeth Anne & Ralph W. Schreiber

WONDERS OF SEA GULLS

By

Pub Date: Nov. 10th, 1975
Publisher: Dodd, Mead

Gulls, as the Schreibers quickly point out, are not necessarily ""sea"" birds at all and the romantic mystique that has persisted from 14th century ballads to the advent of Jonathan Livingston Seagull contrasts sharply with their real lives as raucous and indiscriminate garbage eaters. In spite of its lackluster organization, this outline does present a true picture of gull societies, incorporating some recent research on gull communication such as the behavior signals associated with territorial defense and courting. Functional. . . and the authors' photos are a plus.
