KIRKUS REVIEW

A tiger hunt wherein Karen and Freddy bag Mrs. Brown's lost cat; an off-hours visit to the circus people and animals with Freddy sharing in their swim, music, and dance; and a party that begins with purchases from a balloon man on the corner and ends with Karen's house chock full of balloons and of neighbors. (""Soon there was no more room in the house. So they all went outside and watched the sunset."") Bram well adapts her own distinctive pink and blue whimsy to the benevolent easy-reading mold, and the second and third stories, at least, have a nice, aquarian weightlessness--but that very weightlessness also makes them instantly forgettable.
