COME BE MY GUEST by Elizabeth Cadell

COME BE MY GUEST

By

Publisher: Morrow

Elizabeth Cadell's customary dependability as a writer of lightweight fiction is not evident here. This time she has strained the credulity of even the most naive reader. The Channing family seems slightly outmoded- or do girls today droop and sigh? As for the confidence game played by the glamorous Portuguese Baronesa, who traps the unaware, travelers, with what seems to be a bona fide invitation to ""be my guest"", and then springs a stupendous bill for services rendered, well it seems impossible in any community as well known as Sintra. Harmless- but a disappointment.
