FINS AND TAILS: A Story of Strange Fish

The climbing perch who stays on dry land for days; the tripod fish who jumps along the ocean floor; the male angler fish who literally becomes a part of his mate--these and more seemingly unlikely creatures are pictured and described in simple terms. The style is readable and lively; the illustrations are well drawn but in many cases are weakened by a poor overlay of color. Nonetheless a fascinating package of nickel knowledge-- the sort which young readers seem to enjoy and retain.
