KIRKUS REVIEW

Fourth in a series of stories about Lydia, Jean and little Mark -- small escapades about very real small children. Plum Daffy is a house on the dunes of Cape Cod, and it is there that the children spend a summer filled with kinds of things that might happen. Jean forgets the oars and almost floats out to sea; the children are caught by a storm and spend an eerie night at the lighthouse; Captain Dan spins tall tales and spouts little poems. The short episodes would be quite the thing for short classroom read-aloud-and third graders could read them to themselves. Clear type.
