A Giant Golden Book, this, with gay pictures large and small by Feodor Rojankovsky, and a generous assortment of stories, short pieces, verse. Personally, I liked most of the stories- fifteen in all- for pace and length, ideal for reading aloud at sleepy time. Some are realistic, some fantasy, but told in matter-of-fact fashion- it might have happened this way- which youngsters like. Small town and country dogs, for the most part, are topics. The verse and brief inserts are less successful, but, with Rojankovsky`s pictures, provide spot entertainment.
