KIRKUS REVIEW

A quite charming but not particularly original story of colonial Virginia -- of a half brother and sister, the girl child of an Indian mother, the boy of an English woman, and of the antagonism between them that was finally laid only when the girl's exploit of accompanying her father and his companions on a strenuous journey to the far-lying territory beyond the Blue Ridge. Disguised as an Indian lad, she made the trip unrecognized and saved her brother the humiliation of defeat at the hands of a crook.
