KIRKUS REVIEW

This is the story of that in-between area where the water meets the shore and of the adaptable creatures who inhabit it. It is divided into three categories:- water adapted plants and animals, shore life, animals and plants who depend on both air and water to survive. Examples of each type are, bountifully provided, observations as to their habits, development, and tendencies are made, and suggestions are given for their methodical investigation. An inexpensive, educational, seashore hobby is lucidly introduced here in a manner which is both inviting and highly instructive.
