The Corbett name is good for substantial sales -- this, however, as a group of long-short stories, is not likely to match her previous record. Four distinct stories, against the setting of a mid-western town, Mount Royal, at the turn of the century; a few characters recur, but the plots of the stories are independent, the one of the other, in much the same way as Katherine Brush's stories in Other Women. For the tender quality of the stories, for their building up of a picture of social tabus and standards, read The Legacy, the second story in the collection.
