KIRKUS REVIEW

Gamadge -- with his uncanny facility in linking his two hobbies, crime and rare books, again to the rescue in an oblique sort of mystery of identity, inheritance, and short term marriages. Rena was terrified and out of love with her invalid hero husband in a very few weeks, but it took a thunderbolt of sorts to precipitate her hasty departure for a visit to Gamadge. It took another murder and another departure to bring the threads together. Like most of this series, it is better as a yarn than a thriller.
