MOUNT AND RIDE

Historical novel of the American Revolution -- South Carolina during British occupancy of Charleston growth of Francis Marion renown and achievements. The story revolves around Alan Lindsay whose father is a British prisoner, and who is left in charge of the plantation and of his mother and sister. He becomes a scout for Marion, and has various adventures. No particular sense of plot -- lots of atmosphere and incident. A good tale, but not particularly original.
