TAKE A CALL, TOPSY

Fifteen year old Theodora, popular High School girl, seems bent upon satisfying her ambition to be a dancer despite the disapproval of her family and friends. She finds she must give up other interests to concentrate on this goal, and she has good cause to doubt the worth of the sacrifice. Failure and success and hard work and at last the consent of the family show that the road to success is no easy one. Topsy doesn't emerge with quite the lively charm of Gloria, in the Malvern book, or with the reality of Ellen in Lightning Strikes Twice, but it is a good tale and proves its point -- that only hard workers need apply.
