When Jonathan Jones agreed to keep a small pup for the Seeing Eye Guide Dog school he could not foresee the role that the German Shepherd, Inki, would play in life at Valley View, the family farm in New Jersey. Sergeant Jones, Jonathan's father, stood in need of Inki's help when he returned after two years as a prisoner of war in Korea. A touching and convincing family story which answers many questions about the meticulous training of guide dogs for the blind, this is easy reading with a plot of sufficient complexity to interest readers from fourth through eighth grades.
