KIRKUS REVIEW

Back in Scotland in 1746 two months after Culloden, Alison and her brother Gavin find themselves in an impossible situation. Their horrible Cousin Isabelle has taken over the house; as she is loyal to fat King George, and the young one's allegiance is to King James and Prince Charlie, everyday living is anything but simple. They learn that their older brother Hugh has escaped to the Colonies, so the youngsters flee and come over to Boston, but they are indentured. After various tough experiences the three are finally reunited. A good yarn.
