An unusually colorful, readable and successful picture of the great genius and particularly of his times. There have been two other biographies of Leonardo in the last few years but this one gives by far the best descriptions of the period. Evidently the author has been a fanatic on the life of da Vinci and this book has been simmering for many years. It is to be illustrated by William Sharp and it is to be hoped that the book will be as fine looking as it deserves to be.
