LOOK AT AMERICA

The Junior Literary Guild has chosen this book for one of its selections. In easy prose the author conveys the feeling of what America is -- its races, geography, industries, and so forth, this much we enjoyed. However the illustrations by Harold Haydon spoiled the book for us. Maybe children will like the youthful technique which occasionally has a crude humor, but why must all the people have adenoids? There is scarcely a closed mouth!
