KIRKUS REVIEW

The Gemmings' photo-illustrated introduction gives readers some basic and some incidental information about the birth (or hatching), feeding, uses and even personalities (hens are quarrelsome and jealous, sheep timid and placid) of nine common farm animals while affording a number of closeup views of the young animals with and without their mothers. Slight but straightforward, and the photos are engaging.
