JANIE

The Maine coast again (see Enchanted Island- 1953) as Janie, her parents and her cousin Rick return to spend a weekend at their summer place and find a mystery as well. It starts when Janie's cat, Vitamin K, gets caught in a trap. As the kids go about exploring the place in the brisk fall weather- clam digging, picnicking and so on- they come closer to the heart of the mystery and finally solve it with their friend Mr. Weldon's help. Poachers are around and Bud, a local boy, is apprehended with his gang. Light reading for the 8 -- 11's who wish they too could have such adventures.
