It seems any number of individuals or groups may want to stop Maelle’s latest investigation by scaring or killing her and, worst of all, there may be a mole inside Maelle’s protection unit. Readers who love action-fueled novels with lots of close-up fighting and gun battles in tight spaces will revel in this story’s unrelenting tension. The well-choreographed plot, like the perfectly rendered fight sequences and chase scenes, speaks to Little’s vision for a novel that not only addresses the challenges faced by military veterans but also takes on the plight of journalists fighting to expose the truth. If Little chooses to write a sequel, readers will welcome the chance to spend more time with Juno.
