Into the plethora of recent publishing about the Russian Revolution and its personalities, comes this brief, direct account of Lenin and the events of the 1917 Revolution. Neither full-scale biography nor analytical history, it manages to encompass a great deal of information in simple outline form. The treatment is generally sympathetic as regards Lenin and the Revolution, and more critical as regards its aftermath. The resemblance to a text is reinforced by the rather stolid, dry appearance of the book. For heavy use, prebound purchase would be advisable.
