LITTLE UNA

The fat, tough-skinned rhinoceros-- Little Una-- was the favorite of the children who visited the zoo. When the mayor decides to sell Una to finance a monument, the rhino-lovers rally and save her. The charm which the story-idea does have is quite thoroughly lost here; the illustrations, executed in a printing technique, are poor artistically, exhibiting a rigidity and flatness. Furthermore, the author did not relate the tale with any enthusiasm or originality.
