Brevity (this is not on the author's ""Right Word"" list) would sub-title this more precisely: how to improve your personality and your vocabulary simultaneously. We are very alienated (we did not find this on her ""negative"" word list) by books of this kind which diffuse lovely objectives like ""greater thinking efficiency"" and ""new personality goals"" through sunny-side-up simplicities and referrals to Margaret Culkin Banning and Dorothea Brande. But we were surprised by something which will not improve the Kirkus corporate character -- ""flippant"" is a neutral word and obviously no longer infra dig. On the list of ""positive"" words -- 31 in all -- only one applies to readers of books like this -- persevering.
