Unimportant light fiction, neither interesting nor original. Commonplace love story set in a small mid-western town, in which Gabrielle Adams, daughter of an extravelling salesman, finds herself involved in a strange triangle, distorted by misunderstanding, false loyalties, false standards. She befriends a weakling, and he -- to repay her -- commits a theft, and is almost driven to suicide by remorse. In the end, he gets a chance to begin a new life -- and she to go back to the boy she really loves. Pretty trite.
