The water conservation problem has been getting a deluge of adult book attention and much space in magazine articles. Very little, and much too general, information has been produced in hard covers for younger readers (See-- Lewis, This Thirsty World, 1964, p. 244, J-82 and Casey and Levine, Water Since the World Began, 1965, p. 581, J-195). This book concentrates on the problems of chemical purification and the mechanical details of water control. It gives an excellent overview of water resources in all parts of the country and defines the special water problems being faced in each. It's the best book on the subject for this age group that we have seen here in two years.
