KIRKUS REVIEW

The self-bound dream world of Monty Duchesne, which consists of money and possibly a long escape to South America, as it is fractured by his sordid surrounding, girls who aren't good enough, and the uneasy end to the affair with Nellie- whom he'd knocked up. A chance meeting with a kind lady who could give him everything provokes his return to the past, confirms the fact that he had murdered, and drives him to kill again. A matte portrait which shadows deterioration with suspense.
