KIRKUS REVIEW

Further in these alkaline annals of medicine, this one finds Rufus McGilfray. Navy epidemiologist, returning from research on tropical diseases in the jungle to a small town, Heis, sponsored by Frances Gould whom he meets on the way home and who has just inherited a great deal of money. Enough to start him in practice although he is determined to treat the slum area with its infectious hepatitis. Then there's Ginny, another doctor's wife, starry eyeing him distantly (while the ""girls"" talk about her ""crush"" on him) until she persuades Frances, who has found it ""hard...to be a woman"" to be his.... Patently safe, like Sominex.
