THE CROOKED CORRIDOR by Elizabeth Stevenson

THE CROOKED CORRIDOR

A study of Henry James projected against the facts of his life and an analysis of his novels. The research is evidently thorough, the analysis well documented. The book emerges as a good piece of craftsmanship which adds nothing to the interpretations of James, as artist, that have been done in recent years. The nature of the content, the too rigidly logical organization of the material, require, for understanding, a thorough background. The appeal is for students of James- college libraries, etc.
