Excellent biography (for any age reader) of the South American liberator, one of the most dramatic figures of all history. There's adventure and color enough without fictionizing or dramatizing him. This text betrays sound scholarship, but the story and the characterization are well balanced, and the whole is easy and exciting reading, and leaves one with not only a vivid picture of Bolivar and his associates, but plenty of detail of the life and background.
