A collection of stories about famous Bible children retold by Mrs. Yates with taste and sensitivity. There are stories about David, Samuel, Isaac, Moses, and children featured in the tales about great men of the Bible -- Elijah, Elisha, Joseph and Abraham. Also four stories about Jesus. The author has not departed far from the beautiful words of the King James version, yet the text is simple and dramatic enough to interest the young reader. The drawings by Nora S. Unwin are somewhat stylized but avoid the static quality of most Bible illustrations. Protestant audience primarily.
