HAVEN FOR THE BRAVE

Merry and Michael, the sister and brother of Quest in the Northland, are sent to American friends via Canada, just after London's first real air raid and Merry's narrow escape in it. The scenes of habitant life in Ile d'Orleans, the adventure-filled expedition on Mt. Washington, and the final settling-down in the New England which was, they thought, to be their home for the duration, are much more genuine than the children's spiritual growth in bravery and hope, which is overstressed. However, in spite of the big doses of nobility, it's a good story.
