Just out of State Agricultural College in Carson, having specialized in home economics, Sandra is given the tough assignment of Home Demonstration Agent connected with the 4H clubs in Tupper County, Iowa. She finds no enthusiasm amongst the people and has an uphill fight to carry out her pledge: I pledge my Head to clearer thinking my Heart to greater loyalty my Hands to greater service my Health to better living For my Club, my Community and my Country.
